I could manage to run it through mono on Ubuntu 11.10. I didn't try with a lot of games, but as far as I can tell, Linux Runner doesn't run the files written with V5.0.22. I could run games written with 5.0.21 though. It complains about Conversion from String to Integer.

The error I get with Save the Kitten.taf off this site is:

Error loading /home/stephen/Downloads/Save the Kitten.taf: Conversion from string "&H02B7" to type 'Integer' is not valid.
at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.IntegerType.FromString (System.String.Value) [0x00000] in <filename unknown: 0

at (bunch of boxes) (System.String more boxes, boxes, boxes, Boolean boxes, DateTime boxes, boxes.boxes& boxes, Int64 boxes, Boolean boxes) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>: 0
Input string was not in the correct format

at Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.IntegerType.FromString (System.String Value) [0x00000] in <filename unknown> :0

The actual string varies slightly from game to game, but seems to follow the same &H<four digit hex string>; format.

As a note, I've verified that this is a mono bug and filed it upstream:

That said it doesn't look like mono basic is getting much attention, so if there's any chance for a workaround?
