I found that a font size of 14 resulted in the tails of characters to be chopped off in user input bar.
Arial 12 was ok.

I have found that using the Full Screen option on the Adrift runner menu instead of Windows maximise button cures this to some extent in expanding the input bar but there is still some slight clipping of characters.
