It would be very useful an action that moves a random obj that belongs to a given group to a given loc. Currently afaik it's not possible.
Not sure if you can move a given object to a random location (of a group, edventually...) |

You can certainly move a given object to a random location by moving it to (a member of) a location group. |

Need to add "One thing in group/held by/at location" etc to Move Objects menu in Actions. |

"You can certainly move a given object to a random location by moving it to (a member of) a location group."
I don't seem to be able to replicate this in the action of a task, i don't see an option for (a member of)?
The options for Move an object I see are;
To everywhere in group/To location/to part of character/to part of object/to same location as player
It would be nice if this could be implemented you could go Move "every/each object(random)" with property X from group "RandomLoot" to (member of) a location group "LootLocations". Which will move one object from RandomLoot group to a random location in LootLocations for each instance of matching property x. Thus being able to handle large amounts of items to be randomly selected and moved to a location all in one action. |

There is a work around for moving an object to a random location in a location group and that is to use a proxy character to a random location in the location group, move your object to same location as the proxy, and then move the proxy back to hidden. A bit of work but doable, though this would be nice to have. |

Why the workaround? - the functionality already exists. Just move a single or all objects in a group to the location group. |

You're right about the workaround not being needed for moving dynamic objects to somewhere in a group - I tested it just now with a dynamic object and with one of those selected it read as "somewhere in group" instead of "everywhere in group." The last time I had looked for this I must not have had a dynamic object selected.
However, I also see now that the original poster was asking for move a random object to somewhere in group, instead of one manually chosen thing or everything to somewhere in a group. |
