The 'Max Score' at the bottom of the developer doesn't seem to reflect the score incrementing actions of tasks. The MaxScore variable needs to be set manually for score to work. |

You have posted a report for a bug that doesn't exist! Yes, the maxscore variable has to be set manually to the value that you want the maximum score to be.
However, the Maximum score at the bottom of the Developer is just there to remind you what value you have set maxscore at. When you test your adventure the player's score is shown in the Runner taskbar bottom right and will be incremented whenever the "Score" variable is incremented (e.g. %Score% + 5).
The maxscore variable does not have to be set to any value for the score to work.
Please ask on the forum if there is anything about ADRIFT that you are not sure of before posting reports of "bugs" that do not exist. |

That's odd, because the 'Score' field on the Runner disappears when the MaxScore is set to 0, and it doesn't track any score changes made in game. |

You did say above "the "Maxscore" at the bottom of the DEVELOPER". Yes, you have to define a value for the maxscore variable if you want the "Score: " message to appear at the bottom of the RUNNER. If you have a "Score" task which will display the message (e.g.) "You have scored %score% points so far in this game." this will still increment correctly even if you have not defined a value for the maxscore variable.
I am, however, still correct that this is not a bug as many games do not have a point-scoring system and there is no need in these games to display the "Score:" message on the Runner taskbar. Hence the need to define a value for the Maxscore variable so that this "Score: " message will appear on the taskbar if you have a point-score in your game. |

That's one way of doing it, I guess. I'm just used to the pre 5.0 versions that updated your MaxScore automatically in the Developer. If you wanted to have a game without score I think you should have to delete the Score variable to keep it from showing up, but it's a moot point. Sorry for the mix-up. |

Actually this is a bug, it should be updating automatically as it was in v4. |

MaxScore now updates dynamically as you edit tasks with actions modifying Score. You can also double-click on the statusbar to edit Max Score. |

As I never used v4, I didn't know that this WAS a bug! If you had mentioned this in your original post I would not have made an idiot of myself :-) |
