The game that started an industry! This is an ADRIFT recreation of the classic 350-point "Adventure" game by Will Crowther and Don Woods, also known as the "Colossal Cave" adventure. I used the Inform6 code by Graham Nelson as the basis for most of the game, and I think I got it fairly close. See "help" in the game for more information.
Updated 13/4/07: v1.0.2 Fixed a few bugs with the score, and some Dwarf/Pirate messages. Improved speed.

Online version with Parchment, Tue 25th Jul 2023
By Denk - See all my reviews

This port of the original Adventure that started it all can now be played well online with Parchment:

I have not completed this version but it plays very well. I did note one bug though: At some point you have to (spoiler - written backwards) "drib eerf" but if you try to do that with other commands related to the cage, the game might be unwinnable.

This Adrift 4 version is a lot better than the Adrift 5 version which was only distributed as an exe-file and you could not restore saved games and could not undo or change colors. None of the versions have a map though. I hope to port the Adrift 4 version to Adrift 5 some day though and make a decent use of the map.
