Charming little old school game, Tue 8th Mar 2022
By David Whyld - See all my reviews

This was a charming little old school game which reminded me of playing your standard Scott Adams game back in the day: very brief descriptions, exits and objects clearly defined and just enough depth to make it worth your time playing it. It also comes with a helpful tutorial mode which will clue you in to what you need to do. Clearly, being the seasoned adventurer that I am, I didn't need to use it so I disabled it... then promptly got stuck. Upon checking the accompanying walkthrough, I discovered the solution was so blindingly obvious I've really got no excuse for not figuring it out myself. Ah well. Even seasoned adventurers have an off day from time to time.

This isn't a big game but there is quite a lot to do. A deceptive amount as it happens. Most of the puzzles were fairly easy once you applied a bit of the old grey matter to the problem, with only the task of getting the bull out of his field causing me problems and forcing me to go back to the walkthrough. Well, the author went to the trouble of creating the walkthrough so it'd be wasted if I didn't use it, right? Right?

Overall, this was a decent-ish game, not too hard or too easy and even had a few graphics which certainly helped with the nostalgic feel of things.
