We currently have 3 character positions, Standing, Sitting or Lying, which are shown on the Runner status line accordingly, but how about one for "Kneeling"? It is a natural position after all.

While one can add new properties to the standard three by appending new states to the original Character Position state property, they are not reflected in the status line updates that denote your position.

Demo showing this available at this post in the thread: http://forum.adrift.co/viewtopic.php?f=14&p=102168#p102168

If the status line were to be changed to also reflect state values appended to 'Character Position' as well, then enterprising authors could do the work to add support for other positions they want in their games like kneeling or even positions implying movement states such as running, jogging, climbing, crawling, sneaking, hiding, swimming, or diving.

The map also only shows "Lounge (on a sofa)" instead of giving the new character position.

ElliotM,

I would have thought that movement states such as running, jogging, etc, as mention above could be classed as "Character Attitude" rather than Character Positions. This could be a new state property and could be added to the Runner status line in Options/General "Custom statusbar"

Attitude sounds like it would be more for emotional state of mind things such as happy, sad, or angry, and those would definitely would be something different from the character position property.

Movement states are an extension of position states to me. Sit, lie, and stand are all mutually exclusive in that you can't be doing more than one of them at a time and movement states are also mutually exclusive with each other and the original three positions because you can't be running while sitting, swimming while standing, etc. This means that they can be appended to the same list in games that want them without causing problems as long as the extra tasks were added in by the author to support it.

OK, call it "Character Stance"?
