Great story and puzzles - several bugs, Fri 18th Sep 2020
By Denk - See all my reviews

This game is the third in Finn Rosenløv's Camelot trilogy. When I first played it, I had not tried any of the other games, but that wasn't a problem. I never felt like I was missing a piece of the story. Later, I have tried the first two games, and I think that Son of Camelot is clearly the best of the three games.

Son of Camelot was written with ADRIFT 5 and released in 2012, while ADRIFT 5 was still very much under development. Now, eight years later, the game contains a bug near the end, which I had to fix in order to complete the game. Luckily, I am an ADRIFT-user so that only took a minute. It is my impression that this specific bug is due to a change in the early versions of ADRIFT 5. Nevertheless, it must be fixed in order to complete the game.

Though this was the most critical bug, there were several other bugs and technical inconveniences, which at times were a bit frustrating.

But the story and puzzles are truly excellent and I am glad that I played it. I hope Finn Rosenløv will release a bug-fixed version one day, so everyone has a chance of getting through the game.
